The Best Hotel In Kota Bharu, Kelantan8:30 PG
A day before the trip: 7th May 2015
We were informed by Miss Paris that we’d be flying from Subang to KB at 7.25 am. So, I packed my bags (after a recent visit to the Petronas Chemical Fertilizer in Kedah) and went to Kak Ayue’s house. Thank you, Sis Ayue for allowing me to spend the night and also, Mek Onie who came to pick me up in the morning!
I was super excited the night before and I was sure a lot of us felt the same way. I slept at 2 am and woke up at 4 am!
We departed at 7.25 am and arrived at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport around 8.15 am. After retrieving our luggage at the arrival hall, Abang Wady and Mek Ying from Hotel Perdana were already waiting for us. It only took about 15 minutes from the airport to Hotel Perdana Kota Bharu.
We were warmly welcomed by En. Taha; the General Manager of Hotel Perdana, Puan Nik Adura; the Marketing Communications Manager and other personnel from Hotel Perdana with big smiles on their faces. It was a sign of great relationship.
Upon arrival at Hotel Perdana, the first thing I noticed was the big building itself. Then as I stepped into the lobby, I was amazed with the architecture and interior decoration. It boasts unique carvings on the walls and doors, displaying our Malay heritage with a modern touch.
The next thing that made our jaws dropped was the Mirror Effect setting at the lounge area. One glance and you might think the chairs and coffee tables are images of a mirror reflection, but they are NOT! They are actually carefully arranged in separate cubicles side by side to create the mirror effect when you look from the first window at the entrance. It’s amazing, right?
We walked along the mirror effect sitting area and headed to Cerana Coffee House for breakfast. Right outside the café is the large swimming pool. It was so tempting to see children swimming and splashing around.
The swimming pool is nothing like other swimming pools I’ve seen. To me, it was a great swimming pool with the right depth for beginner swimmers like myself to swim in. It has two large swimming pools separated by a wall, so from Cerana Coffee House you will see the infinity pool concept. Of course, the shallow one is meant for young children and the other is meant for fun-loving adults like you and me.
Along the terrace outside the Cerana Coffee House, you can enjoy your breakfast by the pool. Aaah, what a great way to start your day!
After breakfast, it was time to take a stroll around the hotel to explore it. Every part of the wall is decorated with beautiful paintings and artworks made by local Kelantanese artists. From the corridor walls, the bedrooms, the sminar rooms, and all the way to the public restrooms; you will see a little bit of Kelantan heaven depicted through visual arts.
Some paintings look so realistic, you’d be tempted to come closer to check whether they are the real deal. For example, a batik painting and look, I’m trying to hang the batik to dry. Heheheh! Such a creative and beautiful masterpiece! Not only that, there are also some artworks depicting nature and culture made of acrylic, mixed media, coloured pencils, just to name a few.

Now, let’s check out the rooms and suites that Hotel Perdana Kota Bharu offers to their guests. Puan Nik Adura whom we address as Kak Nik told us that the property is divided into two wings, the Classic Wing and the Executive Wing.
When the Classic Wing has a touch of modern luxury, the Executive Wing amped it up a bit more with more high end decorations and setting. Either way, Hotel Perdana Kota Bharu is suitable for both leisure and business travellers alike.
Here is the Deluxe Classic with a Queen bed.
And here is the Deluxe Premiere. This will be a great room for a big family.

There are the long sofa, writing table, separate bathtub and shower, LCD TV with Astro Channels, praying mats and Kiblat direction. The additional facilities allow Muslim guests to perform their prayers with convenience.
Next we went to the Perdana Suites. Here, you can see the bedroom and living rooms are separated for more privacy. So, it is nice to enjoy the 40” LCD TV or organize a small brunch without worrying of your personal items in the bedroom.
For top business leaders, I’d recommend the Presidential Suite. You can indulge with the luxurious interior and amazing view of the town. You can travel with your family too, with the separate bedrooms and living room. Plus the second bedroom with twin beds.
Both rooms are with attached bathrooms and there is a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, coffee make, microwave oven and dining wares.
Finally, the most luxurious, expensive and beautiful suites of them all; The Royal Suite. Every inch of the interior decoration and design is installed with such grandeur fits for a King and Queen. From the gold-yellow carpets to the intricate carvings, even to the unique collection of artwork.
Also connected with their own Bathrooms, but no Jacuzzi inside here.
This suite comes with a large dining area connected to the living room. The master bedroom is indeed for royalty, equipped with LCD TV, a connecting bathroom with a Jacuzzi. The second bedroom has large twin beds, also with LCD TV and sitting area.

This ballroom can fit up to 500 guests at once and it is equipped with the state of the art AV equipment, making it suitable for weddings, events and convocations. There are 8 other functions rooms including 2 board rooms to cater from for a small meeting of 20 pax up to a big meeting of 100 pax.
